The Election Commission (EC) has decided to grant registration to 16 additional local organisations to observe the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, scheduled to be held in February 2026.

The decision was announced through a public notice signed by Akhtar Ahmed, Senior Secretary of the EC Secretariat, on Saturday (8 November).

According to the notice, anyone wishing to raise objections or claims regarding the registration of these observer organisations must submit them in writing to the Senior Secretary of the EC Secretariat in Agargaon, Dhaka, within 15 working days — by 27 November 2025.

The 16 organisations approved for registration are: Asho Jati Gori (AJAG), Netrakona Social Development Organization (NSDO), Development Organization of the Rural Poor (DORP), Help Center for Human Rights Foundation, Keraniganj Human Resources Development Society, Dipto Mohila Unnayan Sangstha (DMUS),.

And Rural Economic Social Development Organization (RESDO), Rustic, Bachte Shekha, People’s Association for Social Advancement (PASA), International-ASF-Legal Aid Foundation, Manab Unnayan Kendra (MUK), Bangladesh Society for the Change and Advocacy Nexus (B-SCAN), Jubo Academy, Shariatpur Development Society (SDS), and the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Bangladesh (WEAB).

This move comes shortly after the EC’s earlier decision on 6 November, when it granted registration to 66 other local election observation bodies.

With these latest additions, the Election Commission aims to ensure broader participation and transparency in the monitoring process of the upcoming national polls.
