In a major step towards ensuring a transparent election process, the Election Commission (EC) has approved 73 organisations for registration as election observers ahead of the 13th parliamentary elections.
Out of 318 organisations applied to the commission these 73 were found eligible, Md. Ashadul Haque, Assistant Director (Public Relations) of EC, confirmed on Saturday.
The EC has invited anyone wishing to raise objections to submit applications to the Election Commission secretary by 20 October.
“After reviewing the claims and objections, the EC will finalise the list of registered observers,” Haque added, underlining the commission’s commitment to a fair and credible election process.
