Early variety paddy harvest begins in Bhangura’s floodplains

Farmers have started harvesting early variety Boro paddy in the floodplains of Bhanguraupazila of Pabna. They planted this paddy to protect themselves from natural disasters or untimely floods.
Farmer HafizurRahman of Koyra village of Khanmarich union of the upazila said that since this area is located in the Chalanbil, early variety paddy is cultivated in the lands of the low-lying areas. As a result, there is an opportunity to harvest it early.
Upazila Agriculture Officer SharminJahan said that harvesting of early variety paddy has already started in the Chalanbil area. In addition, he hopes that there will be a bumper harvest of paddy this year due to the favorable weather.
It is learned that the target of Boro cultivation was set on 7,050 hectares of land in 6 unions and 1 municipality of the upazila. Among them, early variety rice is cultivated in Khanmarich, Dilpashar, Ashtamanisha and Parbhangura unions in the lowlands.
UpazilaNirbahi Officer NazmunNahar said that farmers have been given incentives since the beginning of this year. Apart from this, there was no shortage of fertilizer, seeds, irrigation and pesticides. As a result, the fields have been filled with golden crops.
