Local Government Minister Tajul Islam announced in Parliament on Sunday that each Member of Parliament will receive a fund of 20 crore taka to address development needs in their respective constituencies.
During the parliamentary session, Jatiya Party Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu raised concerns about the allocation for development work in MPs’ constituencies, given the change in government.
He questioned whether there would be continued support for such projects.
In response, Tajul Islam affirmed the natural inclination of MPs to fulfill their campaign promises regarding development work.
He highlighted the Prime Minister’s understanding of this commitment and announced a project allocating 20 crore taka annually for each MP over a five-year period.
Furthermore, the minister outlined plans for additional projects to meet MPs’ aspirations and sustain development efforts beyond the current allocation.
