Tangail Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque has emerged as a model of efficient, humane, and visionary leadership in public administration. Beyond her official duties, she has demonstrated exceptional initiative, turning Tangail into a district where development is not confined to files but reflected in real life.

Under her leadership, the district administration has become more active, people-oriented, and reform-driven, bringing administrative transparency and public service closer to citizens. Recently, the Deputy Commissioner inaugurated the construction of playgrounds and child parks in every primary school of Tangail. The initiative is seen as a groundbreaking step—combining education and recreation to ensure a balanced learning environment for children.

Another notable achievement of DC Sharifa Haque is her initiative to secure Geographical Indication (GI) certification for Tangail’s famous sweet, “Sandesh.” This effort has highlighted the district’s unique cultural and economic identity at both national and international levels.

During Eid and festive seasons, she personally presides over meetings of the District Road Safety Committee, providing necessary directives to ensure smooth travel for all.
She has coordinated effectively among concerned departments to reduce traffic congestion, regulate public transport, and ensure passenger safety.

Her active participation and guidance during Tangail’s Baishakhi Festival and traditional Horse Parade reflect that she is not just an administrative officer but also a true patron of culture.

In tackling environmental challenges and the risks of climate change, DC Sharifa Haque has shown remarkable dedication. Through regular tree plantation drives across schools, government offices, and open spaces, she has turned awareness into action. With the slogan “Plant trees, save lives,” she has inspired citizens, environmentalists, and youth groups alike.

From the beginning of her tenure, Sharifa Haque has stood by the principle that “Administration exists for the people, and development must involve everyone.” Her dynamic approach proves that real governance is not confined within files but thrives through fieldwork and public engagement.

She regularly monitors programs for persons with disabilities, ensuring free book distribution and food assistance. She also encourages and supports their participation in national and international events. Under her direction, executive magistrates have been instructed to conduct mobile courts regularly to curb illegal encroachments and ensure food safety.

Parents, teachers, business leaders, journalists, and local citizens agree that Tangail district administration has become more vibrant and effective under Sharifa Haque’s leadership.
She is simultaneously addressing development, safety, and cultural harmony in an inclusive manner.

As a capable female administrator, Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque has truly demonstrated that leadership means participation, responsibility, and innovation—not just instruction.
