Dumki UNO secures top position in country

Dumki Upazila of Patuakhali has secured the top position in the country for birth and death registration, surpassing 507 upazilas and city corporations.

This achievement crowns Dumki’s Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abujar Md. Ijajul Haq as the “Best UNO of the Year,” following his two consecutive months (May and June) at the number one spot.

The information was revealed in a recent report published by the Office of the Registrar General (Birth and Death Registration).

According to the report, Dumki Upazila achieved 118.56 percent in birth and death registration.

The second position went to Biral Upazila of Dinajpur with an overall score of 116.52 percent, while Mirzaganj Upazila of Patuakhali ranked third with 115.11 percent.
