Dhaka University Central Students Union (DUCSU) decided to cancel ousted former Prime Minister fascist Sheikh Hasina’s life-time membership given by the elected committee in the the controversial 2019 elections.
The decision was taken on Wednesday night from DUCSU’s second general meeting. DUCSU VP Shadik Kayem later confirmed the decision at a press conference.
He said, “The issue of granting life membership to Hasina was illegal and went beyond DUCSU’s constitution.
“It was given to her undemocratically through a resolution in 2019. It has been decided to cancel that resolution in today’s meeting,” said Shadik.
The second general meeting held at DUCSU conference room on Wednesday was presided over by Dhaka University Vice Chancellor and DUCSU President Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan, PhD and was attended by DUCSU VP, GS, AGS and members of the full executive council.
