GM Ziaur Rahman of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited earned 5 points after finishing of 8th round games of the 16th Dubai Open Chess Championship, which is the biggest chess event of Asia and now is being held at Dubai in United Arab Emirates. In the 8th round game, Zia lost to last year Dubai Open champion GM Aleksandr Rakhmanov of Russia on Monday. In the 7th round game, Zia drew with GM Iturrizaga Bonelli Eduardo of Venezuela on Sunday.
