Dhaka University’s ‘Martyr Intellectual Dr. Mohammad Mortaza Medical Center’ on Monday received a modern ambulance, ten air conditioners, X-ray machines, ECG machines, analyzers, microscopes, hospital beds, almirahs, chairs, desks and various medical equipment and furniture.
In addition, the emergency unit has been set up on the ground floor and the remaining renovation work will be visible soon.
These equipments provided is a part of implemetation of the project worth about 2 crore 75 lakh taka funded ‘Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency’ (TIKA).
Meanwhile, Rotarian Nazmul Karim, the President of the Rotary Club of Gulshan Tigers handed over an RO Water Filter to the The club’s president, Rotarian Nazmul Karim, Martyr Intellectual Dr. Mohammad Mortaza Medical Center the same day.
This filter will provide 200 GPD of pure water per hour tha will benefit the service recipients.
Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan,Vice Chancellor of the university, inspected the progress of the ongoing project with Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha and other officials.
After the inspection, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan said that the modernization of the Medical Center is very important to ensure quality healthcare for the teachers, students and employees of Dhaka University.
“The quality of service will be further improved with the addition of new equipment, ambulance and emergency unit,” said he.
He thanked TIKA and Rotary Club of Gulshan Tigers for their cooperation in this project.
