DU inaugurates July Shaheed Smriti Bhaban

The Dhaka University (DU) administration has inaugurated the new building of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall named July Shaheed Smriti Bhaban commemorating those who sacrificed their life in July uprises.

The eleven-floor building, July Shaheed Smriti Bhaban, has 252 rooms for the students with accommodation of one thousand eight students with modern facilities.

After the inauguration of the building, DU Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan and Pro-Vice Chancellor Mamun Ahmed addressed the event held at Hall Auditorium of the new building on Saturday.

Stating that the new building has been constructed by ensuring all modern facilities for the students, Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan said, “We are working hard to solve seats crisis of our students. This newly constructed building will play role relaxing accommodation crisis of the students.”

“The building has been termed to remember our responsibility towards those who rescued the nation in difficult times by their life,” he added.
