Dhaka University’s various residential halls organised various programmes on Friday, on the occasion of the first anniversary of the historic July uprising anniversary.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan was present as the chief guest at the programme organised at Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall and Kabi Jasim Uddin Hall, reports BSS.
Treasurer Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury spoke as the chief guest at the program organised at Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan laid the foundation stone of the ‘July Memorial Pillar’ at Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall.
He inaugurated various development activities, including the renovated TV room, reading room, mosque, medicine corner and canteen of the hall.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor visited the voluntary blood donation programme and photography exhibition organized in the hall.
Treasurer Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, Hall Provost Professor Dr. Md. Faruk Shah and the resident teachers and students of the hall were present at the program.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan also paid tribute to the July fighters and said that any arrangement with the generation who directly protested against injustice and donated blood is a matter of pride and joy.
