DU classes to be held virtually amid heatwave

The Dhaka University (DU) administration have decided to hold classes virtually for an indefinite period due to the ongoing severe heatwave across the country. The online classes will continue until further notice.
However the all sorts of examination will be held in person, according to the DU authority.
The DU administration informed the development on Sunday through a press release sent by public relations office of the university.
Earlier on Saturday, the government decided that all primary and secondary schools, and colleges across the country will remain closed from April 21 to 27 due to the heatwave.
According to the notification, online classes will be held in DU until further notice to avoid health risks due to the severe heat wave prevailing over the country.
The DU administration have also advised to follow some hygiene rules including wearing loose cotton clothes, staying in shaded areas as much as possible, using caps or umbrellas for the head when going outside, drinking clean water and abstain from taking beverages, such as tea and coffee when the students come out of the Hall to avoid health risks.
