The key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) On Wednesday fell slightly due to mainly price fall in large-cap securities.
DSEX, the broad index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), declined 25.4 points to settle at 5,177 points as against 5,203 points in the previous trading session.
Meanwhile, market turnover also decreased by 17.3% to Taka 4.1 billion as against Taka 4.3 billion in the previous session.
On the sectoral front, Pharma (18.0%) issues exerted the highest turnover, followed by IT (17.2%) and Bank (12.2%) sectors.
Most of the sectors displayed dismal returns, out of which Services (-2.1%), Ceramic (-1.4%) and Financial Institution (-1.3%) exerted the most corrections, while IT (0.7%), Paper (0.5%) and Jute (0.5%) exhibited some gains on the bourse On Wednesday.
