Key share price index in the country’s twin bourses ended the week in positive on Thursday as Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) continued positive trend while Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also returned to positive, both with moderate gain.
Prices of good number of the issues increased Thursday at both the bourses. They, however, made gain in two successive sessions in the beginning of the week on Sunday and Monday, and mixed sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday. The DSE daily turnover again came up to Tk 770.40 crore.
Trading at both DSE and CSE began on positive note in the morning on Thursday, and also ended the day posting moderate gain after some ups and downs throughout the day. The volume of trade in terms of value was higher at both the bourses on the day than on Wednesday.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 33.59 points or 0.69 percent to reach 4845.08 at the close of trading on Thursday. Of the 294 issues traded, 148 gained, 118 declined and 28 remained unchanged.
Most of the traded issues of the day included those from IT, insurance, engineering, aviation, leather, pharmaceuticals, textile, banking and petroleum sectors.
