Various activities were held at Rabindra University on Sunday to raise awareness about the terrible ill effects of drugs.
A procession to make the public aware of the ill effects of drugs started from the university’s temporary administrative building-1 and circled the main road of Shahjadpur city and ended at the university’s temporary academic building-3.
The anti-drug procession was inaugurated by Rabindra University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S. M. Hasan Talukder. At this time, the university’s Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Suman Kanti Barua, Treasurer Professor Dr. Firoz Ahmed, Proctor (Acting), Chairmen of various departments, teachers, students, officers and employees were present.
The Vice-Chancellor said, drugs can destroy a person, a family, a society and even a state. So say no to drugs, be good to yourself, keep your family good, keep the society good and cooperate in building a drug-free country.
He told the university students, you should create a social movement against drugs, so that others can imitate you. During the procession, leaflets with anti-drug slogans were distributed among the common people of Shahjadpur.
Then at 11.30 am, a seminar on the ill effects of drugs was organized at the Rabindra University Auditorium of the temporary academic building-3 of Rabindra University.
The seminar, chaired by the chairman of the Department of Sociology, Jannatul Mawa Moon, was attended by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Rabindra University, Professor Dr. Suman Kanti Barua and Treasurer Professor Dr. Firoz Ahmed. Aslam Ali, Additional Director of the Rajshahi Divisional Circle of the Narcotics Control Department, presented the main article of the seminar by connecting virtually. At this time, Rabindra University Proctor (Acting) Nazrul Islam, chairmen of various departments, members of the proctoral body, teachers, students, officials and employees were present.
