Two drug traders were arrested along with huge quantities of drugs when a special contingent of Anti-Narcotic Department of Khulna (Division) conducted a raided at Lokpur area under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district on Wednesday, according to a report received here. The arrested drug traders are Md. Faisal Hossain (23) and Sohel Rana (26). At that time the DB police contingent seized 94 kgs ganja, 1 (one) thousand 5 hundred 20 Yaba pills and 33 bottles Phyensidil syrup from their possession. 2 motor bikes used by them (drug traders) for the purpose were also seized from the drug traders.
It is learnt from Khulna Anti-Narcotic department that a special raid was conducted by a contingent led by Md. Ahsanur Rahman, Additional Director of the Divisional branch of Khulna Anti-Narcotic department. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Director of the department, Khulna was present at the time of the operation. He disclosed, acting on secret information the raid was conducted by a special contingent of ‘A’ Circle of the department. In this connection Rakibul Islam, Deputy Director of the ‘A’ Circle lodged a case with the local PS as the plaintiff.
Another report States that 2 drug traders including a woman were arrested by the police while they (drug traders) were selling Yaba pills (tablets) in the village Angaria under Rampal Upazila in Bagerhat district at Tuesday evening (at 7-30 pm). In this connection the arrested drug traders were handed over to the police of Rampal PS and a case was lodged with PS by SI Husain Ahmed (of Ramoal PS) as the plaintiff. The matter was confirmed by Somen Das, Officer-in-charge of Rampal PS. In the following morning at 10 am the arrestees were sent to the court at Bagerhat.
It is learnt from the police that acting on secret information that drug traders are selling the drug in the village (Angaria) in the evening at 7-30 pm a police squad led by SI Husain and SI Lyton Kumar Biswas of the PS. The arrested drug traders are Rezina Begum Rubi (38), wife of one Rafiqul Islam of village Shvodia under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district and Abir Karmakar (28), son of one Milon Karmakar hails from Benibabu Road under Khulna City Corporation.
One more woman drug trader was arrested along with 5 kgs ganja from Town-Noapara area under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district by a skilled contingent of DB police, Bagerhat district in Sunday morning, according to a delayed report received here. The arrested drug trader is Sumi Aktar alias Bakul (30), wife of one Md. Dulal Hossain of village Badurtala under Morrelganj Upazila in the district.
