The Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Cricket will begin today at the different venues across Dhaka District.
Reigning champions Dhaka Abahani Limited will take on Agrani Bank Cricket Club in the inaugural match today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital which will start at 9.00am, while Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited will face Gulshan Cricket Club at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) Ground-3 in Savar which will begin today at the same time and Prime Bank Cricket Club will meet Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club at the BKSP Ground-4 in Savar which will start today at the same time.
A total of 12 teams will take part in the DPL Cricket, one of the most prestigious domestic cricket meet of the country.
Defending champions Dhaka Abahani Limited, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, Prime Bank Cricket Club, Shinepukur Cricket Club, Dhanmondi Sports Club, Gazi Group Cricketers, Legends of Rupganj, Brothers Union Limited, Partex Sporting Club, Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club, Gulshan Cricket Club and Agrani Bank Cricket Club.
The trophy unveiling programme of the Dhaka Premier League Cricket was held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur on Saturday. All the Captains of the participating teams took part in the occasion.
Captain of Dhaka Abahani Limited Mosaddek Hossain said, ” This year is challenging for us. We have some talented players. They can perform well and bring a good result.”
Captain of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited Tamim Iqbal said, ” I feel that Dhaka Premier League is spine of Bangladesh’s cricket. I hope the matches will be held in good style and the umpiring will be up to the mark. But the participating players will get their exact payment.”
Captain of Gazi Group Cricketers Anamul Haque Bijoy said, ” I expect that I can perform well and bring a good result from my teammates. Gazi Group Cricketers are outstanding side and I hope we can bring a good result using a remarkable performance.”
Captain of Partex Sporting Club Sabbir Rahman said, ” The competition will be challenging this year. I hope everything will be happened in a good note. As a captain the matches for Partex Sporting Club will be a new chapter for me. I expect I can full-fill the expectation of all.”
