The work of Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar railway project is progressing rapidly towards the realization of the dream. Out of 100 km railway, 75 km (50 km in Cox’s Bazar section and 25 km in Chittagong section) has already been completed.The project director’s office informed that the work of the remaining 25 km is going on. This work is targeted to be completed by June-July.Project engineers are expecting to complete the finishing work and other works in August-September, trial run in October and go to Cox’s Bazar by train in November-December. Out of total 9 stations of the project, two have been fully completed. After completion of 5 infrastructure works, finishing work is underway.
The infrastructure work of the remaining two is still going on. To say that all the structures of the station are standing. The construction of the iconic station at Cox’s Bazar’s Jhelongja is nearing completion, Railway, East zone sources said.
