DMP fines over Tk 63 lakh on traffic violators

The traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed fines totaling Tk 6,345,000 on traffic violators across the capital.
The operations, conducted on Sunday (November 3), resulted in 1,682 cases filed by the traffic department.
Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said that during the drives, 215 vehicles were impounded while 47 others were deemed wrecked.
The DMP’s traffic department will continue to carry out such operations to enforce compliance with traffic laws and enhance overall order on the streets of the capital, added the officer.
Earlier, The traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) imposed fines totalling Tk9,296,000 during operations against traffic rule violators in the last two days (Thursday and Friday).

Division has filed a total of 1,263 cases and realised Taka 50,70,000 as fine in a single day across the capital for violating traffic rules.
This information was confirmed in a press release issued here today signed by
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media and Public Relations Division) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Muhammad Talebur Rahman.
It said the DMP Traffic Division has filed those cases and realized fines on October 19 through regular drive against traffic rules breakers.
During the drive, a total of 125 vehicles were impounded and 55 others towed.
The DMP information further said the drive will continue to bring discipline on Dhaka’s streets.
