DIU delegates visit Malaysia universities

Under the auspices of International Association of Universities (IAU), Daffodil International University (DIU) has been awarded a competitive grant, LEADHER project to carry out a joint project with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) of publishing a manuscript of book on “Empowering Disadvantaged Students using Social Media at Tertiary Level” for building research capacity at Master’s level.
Under this project a seven member team led by Prof Dr Yousuf M. Islam, Department of Software Engineering & Executive Director, HRDI visited Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) for attending a two-week “Research Capacity Building” workshop from April 21 to May 03, 2014.
The other members of the delegations are Prof Dr Md Kabirul Islam, Head, Department of MTCA, Mohammed Shamsul Haque, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Mohamed Emran Hossain, Director (Administration), Nazia Nishat, Lecturer, Sadekur Rahman, Lecturer, Department of CSE and Khaled Bin Mohammad Badruzzaman, Biplob, Teaching & Research Assistant, HRDI.
During their visit, the delegate was invited to share workshop experiences with the Vice Chancellor of USM Professor Dato Omar Osman.
Professor Osman encouraged that research should be done in areas that promote “nation building activities”. He appreciated the Memorandum of Agreement which will help to promote research activities between the two universities.
