District info office women’s rally held in Bishwanath

A women’s rally was held at Dighli Government Primary School in Bishwanath Upazila in Sylhet on the initiative of the Sylhet District Information Office onThursday.
Deputy Director of the District Information Office Md. Salah Uddin presided over the rally.
District Primary Education Officer Sakhawat Ershed spoke as the chief guest. Usha Rani Goswami, Head Teacher of Dighali Government Primary School, spoke at the rally.
The speakers discussed in detail the steps taken by the government for women’s development and the formation of a discrimination-free Bangladesh. In his speech as the chief guest, District Primary Education Officer Sakhawat Ershed said that it is necessary for women to receive various trainings to become self-reliant. Moreover, the government has arranged many training centers to involve backward, neglected, unemployed women in self-employment and income-generating activities. He also said that educated women are working in various institutions along with men after taking various trainings and have made themselves self-reliant.
In his speech, Deputy Director of the District Information Office Md. Salah Uddin said that if the government follows the steps taken for the development of women and children, their development and success will be faster. Calling on everyone to work together to implement equal rights, he also said that it is necessary to be aware that there is no discrimination against women from the family.
He mentioned that as women’s participation in economic activities increases, women’s empowerment will also increase.
District Information Office Senior Assistant Md. Lebach Uddin moderated the programme, women from different classes and professions participated the rally.
