Diseases increasing amid intense heat, no place in hospital
Khulna Bureau :
At the end of Boishakh, the sun’s rays are burning nature. Due to the heat wave, people are suddenly falling ill in the intense heat. During this change in nature, the body of weak people undergoes extensive changes. Those who have low immunity suffer from various viral and bacterial infections. Especially, children and the elderly are victims of this.
Yesterday, when I visited Khulna Children’s Hospital, I saw that there were patients in all 250 beds of the hospital. And there was a crowd outside. Many patients are being treated at home because this hospital could not admit patients. Many are being treated in private clinics. Most of the children are suffering from diseases caused by the heat. The nurses are struggling. They say that when it gets too hot or cold, the patient’s pressure increases. On the one hand, it is very hot and on the other hand, the patient’s pressure. We are really struggling.
Sonia Akhter brought her son to this hospital from the Singher Char area of Rupsha upazila of the district. She said that the boy has not been eating anything for the last three days. He has been having loose stools since the day after yesterday. Had to see a doctor the first day and be admitted the next day. Now much better.
