A discussion meeting titled “What we can do” was held at Hotel Sizzler Restaurant last Saturday to prevent drug abuse in Feni. Feni Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam was the chief guest.
The event was presided over by the president of the organization, district BNP joint convener Eyakub Nabi Bhuiyan, and moderated by secretary Maulana Ekramul Haque Bhuiyan.
The special guests were District BNP member secretary Alal Uddin Alal, joint convener Gazi Habib Ullah Manik, District Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Mufti Abdul Hannan, Islamic Movement Feni District President Maulana Gazi Enamul Haque.
Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary Maulana Abdur Rahim, Feni Additional Police Superintendent Ariful Islam, Doctor Tabarak Ullah Chowdhury Bayezid, Feni Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamsuzzaman, Hefazat Islam Secretary Omar Faruk, Khelafat Majlis President Mozaffar Ahmed Japri, Feni Government College Vice Principal Mohammad Ayub, Bangladesh Primary Teachers Association Central Committee Secretary Mohi Uddin.
Khandaker, Chairman of Feni Model College Mohammad Ilias, AB Party’s Chittagong Divisional Organizing Secretary Engineer Shah Alam Badal, Jamaat-e-Islami Feni City Branch’s Co-Secretary Mizanur Rahman, AB Party’s District President Master Ahsan Ullah, Gana Adhikar Parishad leader Rezaul Karim and others. People from different walks of life were present at the time.
The speakers at the meeting said that drugs are like cancer. Drug addicts are enemies of the family, society and the state. Therefore, drugs must be prevented through the collective efforts of everyone
