The plaintiff, Md Selim Mia, 45, is the manager of a building called Munira Bhaban. He is a resident of Chandpur’s Koralia area municipality, Ward No. 8.
According to the case dossier, on Jul 18, hundreds of armed leaders and activists stormed into Munira Bhaban and vandalised the entire building.
It also mentions that the said building was sabotaged, looted and set on fire with the help of Dipu Moni, Chandpur Awami League Vice President Wadud Tipu, General Secretary Abu Nayeem Patwari Dulal, Chandpur Municipality Mayor Zillur Rahman, and Chandpur Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Humayun Kabir Shumon.
During the attack, the building’s owner, Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik, the District BNP president, was out of the country.
