Sylhet Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Nasir Uddin said that to ensure health and basic services for every section of the society, including the marginalized and transgender people, responsible institutions will have to work more collaboratively.

Sustainable development is not possible without the active participation of local stakeholders.

He said these things as the chief guest at a dialogue on Involving Local Stakeholders to Ensure Service Delivery organized at a prestigious hotel in Sylhet on Monday.

Organized by Bandhu Social Welfare Society and supported by Citizenship: Civic Engagement Fund (CEF), the main theme of this dialogue was Involving Local Stakeholders: Local Initiatives to Increase Service Delivery.

Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Development, Sylhet Md. Abdur Rouf Shah,Deputy Director of Women’s Department, Sylhet Shahina Akhtar, Deputy Director of Social Services Department, Sylhet Md. Abdur Rafiq, Senior Assistant Judge and District Legal Aid Officer, Sylhet Bishweshwar Singh, Deputy Civil Surgeon, Sylhet Dr. Janmejoy Dutta also spoke the programme as special guest at the event.
