BSS, Dhaka :
Ten men Mohammedan Sporting Club earned their second successive win in the Bashundhara Kings Bangladesh Premier League Football beating holders Bashundhara Kings 1-0 held at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla on Friday.
With the win, Mohammedan took sweet revenge of their defeat to Kings in the Bangladesh 2.0 Challenge Cup which was held last month.
It was also the first defeat to Kings following their emphatic 7-0 drubbing over Chittagong Abahani Limited while Mohammedan thrashed Dhaka Wanderers Club by 6-0 in both their respective league opening matches.
Mohammedan suffered early jolt when they were reduced to ten men by the referee. Custodian Sujon Hossain got the marching order in the 24th minute of the match.
But, Mohammedan kept their nerve cool in the whole proceeding and eventually brought out the result showing mature football.
After the barren first half, Malian forward Souleymane Diabate finally broke the deadlock scoring the all-important goal for Mohammedan in the 58th minute of the match.
Kings, however, tried their best to stage a fight back in the match but they could not score any in the remaining proceeding.
Mohammedan will play their next match against their arch-rival Abahani Limited, Dhaka on December 14 at the same venue while Kings will meet Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society on the same day at Bashundhara Kings Arena.
