An era in Indian cinema has come to an end. Actor Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89. He was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital earlier this month. He was discharged from the hospital as his physical condition improved. When news of his death spread in the media on November 11, Dharmendra’s family denied it. Hema Malini and Esha Deol said that he was responding to treatment and was stable. Since then, the actor was being treated at home.
Two weeks after the incident, an ambulance was seen leaving Dharmendra’s house on the morning of November 24. Security was tightened in front of his house since morning.
Many Bollywood stars were seen going to the Pawan Hans crematorium in Juhu. Amitabh Bachchan, Salim Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, producer Anil Sharma and many others have already reached the crematorium.
Dharmendra’s family has not yet made any official statement. However, leading Indian media outlets including the Indian Express, Hindustan Times, and Times of India have confirmed the news of Dharmendra’s death from police sources.
Meanwhile, Bollywood stars have started paying tribute to Dharmendra on social media.
