Today is 10 Poush in the Bangla calendar. Dhaka experienced its coldest morning of the season on Thursday, with the minimum temperature dropping to 14.2 degrees Celsius, as reported by meteorologist Abul Kalam Mallik.
Fog and chilly winds have heightened the winter chill in the capital, despite rural areas feeling the cold more intensely earlier.
Temperatures will hover between 12 and 14 degrees Celsius in the coming days, with Thursday’s temperature marking the seasonal low.
Dhaka’s skies could temporarily turn cloudy on Thursday, with daytime temperatures remaining largely unchanged. Issued at 7am on Thursday for the next six hours, the bulletin for Dhaka and surrounding areas predicts mostly dry weather alongside light to moderate fog. Winds from the south/southeast may blow at 6-12 km/h.
In the latest 120-hour nationwide forecast, the country is expected to see partly cloudy skies with dry conditions. Moderate to dense fog could form in northern regions and river basins from late night to morning, while light to moderate fog is likely elsewhere. Night temperatures may dip slightly, but daytime highs should hold steady.
The Met Office forecasts light to moderate fog over Dhaka for the next few days, with mostly dry weather prevailing.
