In a bid to strengthen bilateral relations, the Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Karachi, Mahbubul Alam, has expressed a strong desire to promote trade ties with Pakistan.
He encouraged the Pakistani business community to seize emerging opportunities in Bangladesh, emphasising the potential for joint ventures, the import of industrial raw materials, and the export of products after conducting thorough market assessments.
Alam made these remarks during a meeting with a trade delegation from the Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Merchants Association (PCDMA) at the Bangladesh High Commission in Karachi.
He assured the delegation that the High Commission would provide all necessary support to facilitate Pakistani
traders, according to a Pakistan-based media outlet.
The delegation was led by PCDMA Chairman Salim Valimuhammad and included Vice Chairman Sharique Feroze, Chief Advisor Arif Balgamwala, Diplomatic Convener Sheraz Chughtai, former Chairman Mahmood Salam, and Ahmed Jahangir.
Highlighting the importance of direct business interactions, Alam invited PCDMA Chairman Valimuhammad to visit Bangladesh along with a trade delegation.
He stressed that mutual visits and direct engagements between the business communities of both countries would pave the way for exploring new trade avenues, ultimately boosting bilateral trade.
Addressing concerns about visa issuance, Alam assured that visas would be promptly provided to traders recommended by PCDMA.
He also committed to organising business-to-business meetings with Bangladeshi traders whenever PCDMA delegations visit Bangladesh.
Expressing gratitude, PCDMA Chairman Salim Valimuhammad thanked the Deputy High Commissioner for the warm invitation and acknowledged his efforts to enhance bilateral trade.
He affirmed that the Pakistani business community is eager to play an active role in strengthening trade ties with Bangladesh and fostering economic growth for both nations.
