Dhaka ceremony celebrates Pakistan resolution

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Syed Ahmed Maroof extended his greetings to the Pakistani diaspora in Bangladesh.

He paid tribute to the sacrifices made for the creation of Pakistan and stressed the importance of reflecting on this legacy while renewing collective efforts to build a strong and prosperous nation in line with the vision of Pakistan’s founding fathers.

Maroof acknowledged the contributions of leaders from Bengal to the Pakistan Movement. The High Commission observed Pakistan Day with a solemn flag-hoisting ceremony at the Chancery on Sunday morning.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh raised the national flag as the national anthem played, commemorating the historic event of 23 March 1940.

On this day, visionary leaders of the Pakistan Movement, led by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, passed the Pakistan Resolution, laying the foundation for an independent homeland for the Muslims of South Asia.

Messages from the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar were read aloud, highlighting the significance of the day and reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to progress, unity, and national development.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Pakistani community in Bangladesh, local media representatives, and staff of the High Commission.
