Dhaka Bank signs agreement for digital nano loan refinancing

Dhaka Bank PLC has signed an agreement with Bangladesh Bank to take part in the central bank’s Refinance Scheme for Digital Nano Loans, aiming to expand financial access for marginalized communities. The signing took place on this week at Bangladesh Bank’s head office in Dhaka.
Under the scheme, Dhaka Bank will receive refinancing for digitally disbursed Nano loans.

Bangladesh Bank has reintroduced the Tk 100 crore fund to support small digital loans, according to a press release.

Dhaka Bank offers “eRin” and “eRin Device”, digital platforms that allow customers to apply for unsecured personal loans or mobile device loans up to Tk 50,000, with funds credited within two hours on a banking day without any physical documents.

The agreement was signed by A K M Shahnawaj, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Dhaka Bank, and Md. Iqbal Mohasin, Director of the Financial Inclusion Department of Bangladesh Bank. Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, attended as the Chief Guest.
The initiative is expected to make loans more accessible and promote digital lending across the country.
