Dhaka Bank PLC announce the appointment of Sheikh Mohammad Maruf as its new Managing Director (MD). Maruf brings with him over 28 years of extensive experience in Bangladesh’s banking sector, having previously served as Additional Managing Director and Chief Business Officer at The City Bank.
Mr. Maruf’s career began in 1995 as a Management Trainee at American Express Bank, where he eventually rose to the position of Director and Head of Financial Market Services and Treasury.
His journey continued with his role as Head of Treasury at Eastern Bank PLC, before joining The City Bank in 2007 as Executive Vice President and Head of Treasury.
In 2012, he was promoted to Deputy Managing Director and Head of Wholesale Banking at The City Bank, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the bank into a trusted financial institution.
With nearly three decades of experience across corporate banking, treasury, retail, cards, market risk, wholesale banking, micro-financing, and trade financing, Mr Maruf has been instrumental in developing innovative financial products and services.
