Health Department on alert —
The office of the Civil Surgeon has instructed all hospitals to keep separate dengue wards and ensure blood testing facilities. Meanwhile, the district administration and municipality have launched mosquito-control and awareness drives, including fogging and cleanliness campaigns.
Medicine specialist Dr. Suza Uddin Talukder advised residents to keep their surroundings clean, remove stagnant water from flowerpots, rooftops, and containers, and seek medical attention immediately if fever, headache, or rash appears.
Across Bangladesh, dengue infections have increased in recent weeks. Although the situation in Tangail remains under control for now, experts warn that without sustained preventive measures, the number of cases could rise further.
