Dengue claims one more life

Dengue claimed another life and sent 386 to hospitals in the last 24 hours across Bangladesh, according to the latest government health report.
The data was revealed in a report issued on Tuesday by Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the report, the highest number of hospitalizations occurred in Barishal, where 163 new dengue patients were admitted. In other regions, 73 cases were recorded in Dhaka Division, while 30 patients were admitted in Dhaka North City Corporation and 38 in Dhaka South City Corporation.
In Chattogram Division (excluding the city corporation), 19 new patients were hospitalized, along with 16 in Khulna Division, 8 in Mymensingh Division and 39 in Rajshahi Division; excluding their respective city corporations.
This latest death raises the total dengue death toll to 43. Among them, 10 deaths occurred in January, 3 in February, 7 in April, 3 in May, and 19 in June.
The most recent fatality was reported from Mugda Medical College Hospital in Dhaka.
So far this year, 10,682 people have been hospitalized due to dengue. Of them, 9,409 have recovered and been discharged.
