Dengue claims 6 lives in 24hrs

Six more people died of dengue in 24 hours till Thursday morning , while 586 patients were admitted to hospitals across the country.

Among the deceased, three were from Dhaka South City Corporation, while one each was from Dhaka North City Corporation, Mymensingh Division, and Rajshahi Division. Since January this year, dengue has claimed 145 lives.

According to a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), those admitted to hospitals with dengue: 109 were from Barishal Division (outside the city corporation), 58 from Chattogram Division (outside the city corporation), 104 from Dhaka Division (outside the city corporation), 144-the highest number -from Dhaka North City Corporation, 103 from Dhaka South City Corporation, 12 from Mymensingh Division (outside the city corporation), 44 from Rajshahi Division (outside the city corporation), 10 from Rangpur Division (outside the city corporation), 2 from Sylhet Division (outside the city corporation).

During the same period, 609 patients were discharged, bringing the total number of recovered dengue patients this year to 34,745.
So far this year, 36,682 people have been infected with dengue. Of them, 63.8 percent are male and 36.2 percent female.
