Dengue, chikungunya outbreak increasing in Kishoreganj

Like the rest of the country, the epidemic of dengue and chikungunya is increasing in Kishoreganj.
Experts says that the disease spreads through the bites of Aedes mosquitoes. Every day, the news of deaths due to dengue and chikungunya is increasing in the media.
The breeding and larval density of Aedes mosquitoes in Kishoreganj has increase and people affected.
Therefore, the leaders of the Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB), Kishoreganj have demanded effective and coordinated efforts to protect the public health.
CAB also say that the Local Government organisations including Kishoreganj Municipality , could not show any change in mosquito control activities and garbage collection. Due to the laxity with which all these activities were carried out, the municipality residents are now suffering from serious diseases like dengue and chikungunya.
After, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-,Revenue) , Administrator of Kishoreganj Municipality, Nahid Hasan Khan took charge, efforts were made to speed up the cleanliness activities, but they did not gain momentum.
