Protesting alleged negligence by the Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) and the Civil Surgeon’s office in combating dengue, demonstrators organised a besieging program at the Civil Surgeon’s office. The event was carried out by the Narayanganj branch of the Ganashanghati Andolon on Sunday, December 1.
The protest began at 11:00 AM with a rally from the Chashara area, culminating in the besieging of the Civil Surgeon’s office in the New Court area. The blockade lasted about an hour until Civil Surgeon Dr. A.F.M. Mushier Rahman came out to talk with the protesters.
During the program, Ganashanghati Andolon leaders presented a nine-point demand to the Civil Surgeon. Following assurances of addressing their concerns, the demonstrators dispersed.
