On the first day of the 7-day nationwide lockdown, traders of Mirpur Road including New Market, Gauchia, Hawkers Market and Elephant Road have started a movement to keep their shops open in compliance with the health regulations.
Traders and employees of different markets took to the streets in small processions at around 11:30 am on Monday (today). They also took to the streets on Sunday.
They demand the government’s permission to keep shops open in compliance with all health regulations during the lockdown.
