Delhi Capitals picked up Mustafizur Rahman of Bangladesh for play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Cricket. Delhi Capitals’ recruited Mustafizur Rahman for Rupees six crore. The base price of the left-arm pacer is Rupees two crore.
After the clash of Pakistan-India, most of the cricketers left India and went home. Mustafizur Rahman will play for Delhi Capitals in the rest of the matches of IPL.
‘Cutter Boy’ played for Delhi Capitals in 2022 and 2023 in IPL. He captured nine wickets for Delhi Capitals.
Earlier, Mustafizur Rahman played for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. ‘The Fizz’ bagged 61 wickets playing 57 matches in IPL.
Mustafizur Rahman is now the most expensive cricketer among Bangladeshi players. Kolkata Knight Riders recruited Mashrafe Bin Mortaza for US$ six lakh. Mustafizur Rahman crossed Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.
The Bangladeshi left-arm pacer will not get enough matches to play. Delhi Capitals earned 13 points playing 11 matches. Chennai Kings, which stood in the fourth position advanced one point from Delhi Capitals.
Mustafiz have to show notable performance in practice session to get chance in the match. His rivals are left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc of Australia and left-arm pacer Thangarasu Natarajan of India.
The IPL will start May 17. Delhi Capitals will face Gujrat Titans on May 18.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Cricket team will play two Twenty20 International (T20I) matches against United Arab Emirates (UAE). The first match will be held on May 17 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium and the second match will be held on May 19 at the same venue. Mustafizur Rahman has been included in the Bangladesh Cricket squad.
Bangladesh Cricket squad left the city for UAE to take part in the two-match T20I series.
It is uncertain that the Bangladesh Cricket Board will issue No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Mustafizur Rahman to play in IPL as after the UAE series, the five-match T20I series of Pakistan is knocking at the door.
