Roumari thana Police in Kurigram recovered a dead body of a child after seven hours of missing. The body was sent to Kurigram Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy on Saturday evening.
The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately.The deceased was identified as Hossain Safi (3), son of Jahedul Islam from village Jhagrar Char under Dant Bhanga union of Roumari upazila.
Police and local sources said the child was missing suddenly at around 5.30 on Friday. He was not found after a long searching and a GD was filed with Roumari thana police.Later the body was found in a sack from an abandoned room near his house. Police recovered the body at night.
Former chairman of Dant Bhanga UP Abdul Gani admitted the incident.Officer-in-charge of Roumari police station Montasir Billah told that the body was however sent to Kurigram sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy on Saturday evening. The motive of death will be known after autopsy. The investigation is going on, he added.
