FM Iqbal bin Anwar (Dawn) Walton’s Senior Executive Officer has been awarded the ‘Mayurapankhi Star Award’ by the popular philanthropic foundation of the country, Mayurapankhi. This prestigious Mayurpankhi Star Award was handed over to Dawn through a grand ceremony at a hotel in the capital on Friday (January 27). Apart from Dawn in the music category, popular artists like National award-winning singer Somonur Monir Konal, Ashikuzzaman Boni, Beli Afroz and Pooja have also been honoured with this award, said a press release.
On receiving the Mayurapankhi Star Award, Dawn said, ‘I am very happy that the Mayurapankhi Foundation has organized such an event. It is believed that such an event will be held every year. I thank the foundation’s chairman Ruhit Sumon and all the officials at all levels. I think every award increases the sense of responsibility. I believe that everyone who has been awarded in different categories, including me, has increased their responsibility in their work.
Vocalist Dawn also mentioned, ‘This is not the first time in music. I have received several awards before. But this year’s award will encourage me more towards music. New or original songs will make everyone interested in gifting. Dawn’s award was discussed with Ruhit Suman, founder and chairman of the Mayurpankhi Foundation. He said, Mayurapankhi Foundation works for the country and works for the people. It is a service-oriented foundation. This foundation always appreciates meritorious people. Apart from social work, we try to honour people who are entertaining and inspiring us in various ways. Dawn’s award is proof of that. The way he is taking forward the neglected sports federations of the country through Walton really deserves praise. Besides this, he is practising music very well. I myself have listened to his songs on various occasions. We are really happy to award such a talented artist.
For the second time, the Mayurapankhi Star Award program was completed under the initiative of the Mayurapankhi Foundation. The company launched it last year in the year 2022. Organizers have added a different dimension to this year’s event even though they could not organize a very large scale of services. From the venue of the event to the award-winning personality – it was a sensational affair everywhere. The foundation gives the Mayurapankhi Award to 25 eminent personalities of the society in total of six categories. Apart from receiving the award, the awardees attended the ceremony and participated in the cultural programme. Popular vocalists such as Boni, Katha kept the program alive by singing songs. Mayurapankhi Star Award-winning artist Dawn also entertained the audience by singing at the same event.
