Journalists and staff of the Daily Bangladesh Post gathered in protest demanding the immediate settlement of long overdue salaries and allowances.

The ongoing delay has caused considerable hardship among the employees.

The protest was held in front of the editor’s office on Monday, with participants raising their voices for urgent remedial solution, says a press release.

The workers highlighted that wages for several months have not been paid. Despite repeated assurances, the management has yet to fulfill their financial obligations.

They expressed grave concern over the situation. They called for a permanent solution immediately to support the journalists and staff in their daily lives.

The protestors also demanded that the editorial board address the discrepancies in payment promptly to avoid further disruption.

The prolonged salary delay has severely affected the media workers’ morale and working conditions.

Leaders of the associations emphasised that the continuation of this issue risks creating serious operational challenges for the publication.

Among the grievances, the protestors highlighted the absence of Eid bonuses and medical allowances, which are essential for their well-being. They urged the management to prioritise these payments immediately.

The protesting group warned that if their demands are not met within two weeks, they will escalate their movement to press for justice. They stressed the need for solidarity among journalists and staff alike to uphold their rights.

Authorities have yet to respond publicly to these demands. Meanwhile, the agitation has gained attention across the journalistic community, calling for swift intervention to restore normalcy at the Daily Bangladesh Post.
