In order to increase the production of the current Aman paddy, including maintaining the supply of fertilizers, price monitoring and checking the quality and stock of various winter vegetables in the upcoming Rabi season, regular market monitoring activities have been strengthened in important local markets of various upazilas in Sylhet under the initiative of the Department of Agricultural Extension.
This monitoring program is continuing to monitor the price of fertilizer to maintain the supply of fertilizer and ensure appropriate quality pesticides for disease and insect control and to verify the quality and stock of various winter vegetables in the upcoming Rabi season.
In continuation of this, this program has started in various upazilas of the district since last Monday.
On the 1st day, this program was conducted in various markets of Jokiganj, on the 2nd day, various markets of Osmani Nagar upazila and various seed houses at the Keen Bridge intersection in South Surma.

Acting Deputy Director Deepak Kumar Das, Additional Deputy Director (Grains) Debal Sarkar, Sylhet Metropolitan Agriculture Officer Saima Nazmin, Zakiganj Upazila Agriculture Officer Abdul Momin, Osmani Nagar Upazila Agriculture Officer Umme Tamima, along with the concerned Upazila Agriculture Extension Officers and Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officers.
During the conversation, Additional Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Agronomist Md. Anisuzzaman said that monitoring activities are ongoing to maintain the supply of fertilizer to increase the production of Aman paddy, ensure appropriate quality pesticides to control diseases and insects, and verify the quality and stock of various winter vegetables in the upcoming Rabi season. Activities will be conducted in phases among the market places of other upazilas of the district, including seed and fertilizer dealers.
