Cultural week celebrated at KYAU

A four-day sports and cultural week began at the renowned Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU) in Sirajganj on Tuesday.

At 9 am, the program was officially inaugurated by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mohammad Yusuf, by reciting the memorial of the founder of the university, Dr. Mir Mohammad Amjad Hossain and hoisting the national flag.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by the member of the academic council of the university, Professor Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Advisor and Professor Emeritus Dr. Hossain Reza, Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Ahsanullah Habib, Advisor International Relations, Controller of Examinations, Dean, Registrar, Proctor, as well as teachers, officials and students of the university.

After the inauguration of the program, the sports competition began with a football match between the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Department of Business Administration at the Jamuna Hall ground.

At the same time, cultural performances began on the open stage, where students presented music, debates, dance and drama performances. In this four-day event, competitions will be held in a total of 8 events for boys and girls, including football, cricket, ludo, chess, carrom.

The final round and award ceremony will be held on the last day. Professor Abu Torab Md. Hasan, coordinator of the university’s club activities, said, “Sports and cultural weeks play an important role in the physical and mental development of students. Such events develop leadership qualities, team cooperation and a competitive spirit among students, which will have a positive impact on their future success.”
