Chattagram Bureau :
Chattagram Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Magistrate Farida Khanom said that sacrificial animal stalls will not be allowed in any school grounds in the district or city in view of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha. A total of 9 cattle markets, including 6 initially and 3 more lately, have been approved in the city. Apart from these, no other cattle market will be allowed to be set up in the city. Except for the markets approved at the upazila level, no cattle market will be allowed to be set up anywhere. The team of the District Livestock Department will be in the market round the clock to check whether the sacrificial animals have any kind of disease. No traffic jam or chaos can be created around the cattle market. Action will be taken if this is violated. She said these things in her speech as the president at the monthly development coordination meeting of the District Development Coordination Committee and a separate meeting of the District Law and Order Committee held at the conference room of the Chattagram Circuit House on Sunday (May 18).
The activities and progress of 10 government departments/organizations were presented through multimedia in the meeting.
Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Syed Mahbubul Haque presented the crime picture of the last month by sector through multimedia in the law and order committee meeting. In the meeting, the DC said, the government has given priority to coordination-based activities for the overall development of the country.
District-based activities are being monitored regularly. As per the government’s instructions, we will all work together in a coordinated manner for the overall development of the district.
We will ensure our activities with talent, efficiency and honesty by bringing every government department under reform, so that it is satisfactory. For this, everyone’s sincere cooperation is needed.
In the meeting, Chattagram District Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam said, without environmental clearance, the registration of hospitals, labs, diagnostic centers and clinics cannot be updated. Many people have complained about not getting the environmental clearance certificate on time even after applying for it before the registration of the institution is updated.
It would be better if the organization is sincere in providing environmental clearance, subject to receiving the necessary documents along with the application without any harassment. He said, due to the increase in patients, Chattagram Medical College (CMC) Hospital and Chattagram 250-bed General Hospital are struggling to provide medical services.
Considering the suffering of ordinary patients, the government has started medical services in the outpatient department of Chattagram Railway Hospital in CRB from May 14. From now on, patients will be able to come here to receive emergency services from general cardiac problems.
