Chattogram Bureau :
Awami League General Secretary Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway will have six lanes.
The feasibility study has already been completed. JICA has confirmed the financing of the construction of this highway.
The construction of three bridges including Sangu, Matamuhuri on this highway with JICA funding has already been completed.
He gave this information in an exchange meeting with journalists at Chattogram Circuit House on Friday.
Stating that Dhaka-Chattogram four-lane highway will be upgraded to six lanes, the minister said, Dhaka-Chattogram highway must be made six-lane, there is no alternative. We have ready space on both sides.
Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar will also be. Referring to Chattogram’s trade and economy, this senior Awami League leader said, “Chattogram should be kept alive for the sake of the country’s national economy.”
