Business Report :

Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin said yesterday that the government is working to increase trade capacity by increasing import-export activities. We are trying to connect with as many countries as possible in bilateral trade. Bilateral trade will be increased on the basis of cooperation with neighboring countries.

The advisor said these things at a program titled ‘Meeting with Jam Kamal Khan and Sheikh Bashiruddin’ organized by the Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the hall room of the World Trade Center in Agrabad in the city on Friday.

Pakistan’s Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan said that we are interested in building strong relations between the two countries through which the development of the people of the two countries will be accelerated. We know our challenges, this time we have to move forward.

He said that the people of the two countries know each other, are aware of each other’s culture. If we can create a proper business roadmap, then there will definitely be progress in trade.

However, for this, joint venture collaborations need to be increased. Stating that the global economic trend is changing rapidly, Mr. Kamal Khan said, we have an opportunity to increase trade. At this time, he mentioned the increase in trade in Bangladesh’s manufacturing, leather, footwear, pharmaceuticals, garments, etc. sectors. He said, we will create a trade roadmap for the next two years.

A joint working group is working for this. There is an opportunity to work on this so that not only the government with the government, but also the businessmen of the two countries can import and export through direct communication.

He mentioned that the aviation authorities of the two countries can launch direct flight facilities from Dhaka to Karachi through discussions. Under the chairmanship of Chattogram Chamber Administrator Mohammad Anwar Pasha, Additional Secretary (WTO) of the Ministry of Commerce Dr. NazneenKawsar Chowdhury, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Md. Ziauddin, Trade Investment Attaché of Pakistan High Commission Zain Aziz, former Senior Vice President of CCCI MA Salam, former Senior Vice President ErshadUllah, Chairman of Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited Ali Hossain Akbar Ali and other business leaders called for increasing trade between the two countries by starting direct air transport and sea freight from Chattogram to Karachi and cooperation in the shipbuilding sector.

They expressed the opinion that this will strengthen the trade relations of the two countries and reduce the trade deficit.
