In the last 15 days, the water in the Padma river in Ishwardi has increased twice. The crops of the arable land in the grazing area have been submerged under the water due to the rise of water.
Hundreds of hectares of land in Dadapur, Bilkedar, Degreecher of Lakshikunda union have been waterlogged due to rising water in Padma. Forage banana crop and other crops were washed away.
Vegetable crops are also submerged in water. The grasslands of Sara Union are completely isolated from the river.
Hundreds of hectares of cultivated land in Char are now under water. Farmers cultivating in the Le Char area have suffered greatly.
According to the sources of Water Development Board, on September 26, the water level at Hardinge Bridge Point of Padma was 12.38 meters. Which is the highest height at Hardinge Bridge Point this year. After that from 30th September to 3rd October the water started decreasing.
On October 3, the water level was 12.16 meters. However, after two days on October 5, the water started rising again. On this day, the height of the water is 12.25 meters. On Sunday (September 6) morning, the water level dropped by 1 cm to 12.24 meters. On Monday (September 7), the water level dropped to 12.14 meters.
