The Croatian tourism industry generated an income of 7.4 billion euros (7.9 billion U.S. dollars) in 2014, up 2.8 percent compared with 2013, the Croatian Tourism Ministry said Thursday.
The number was close to the revenue made in the record year of 2008 at 7.46 billion euros.
A total of 7.2 billion euros were made from trips for personal purposes, 3.3 percent more than in 2013 and 2 percent more than in 2008, the ministry said.
Tourism revenue accounted for 17.2 percent of GDP in 2014, 0.6 percent more than in 2013, according to the ministry.
