A Dhaka court has imposed travel bans on former Southeast Bank Chairman Alamgir Kabir, Chittagong Samiti Building Additional Director General Tajul Islam, and his wife Khodeza Khatun due to separate anti-graft investigations.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib issued the orders on Monday following two petitions filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
ACC Deputy Director Azizul Haque sought the travel ban on Kabir, citing allegations that he abused his position, engaged in nepotism, and misappropriated hundreds of crores of taka from Southeast Bank. The petition warned that Kabir might flee abroad, hampering the ongoing probe.
